This comforting casserole combines savory ground beef, creamy mushroom sauce, melted cheese, and crispy tater tots for a crowd-pleasing meal. It’s easy to make and perfect for weeknight dinners.

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional seasonings: garlic powder, paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook ground beef with onion until browned.
  3. Stir in soup and sour cream.
  4. Spread mixture into casserole dish.
  5. Add 1 cup cheese.
  6. Top with tater tots in a single layer.
  7. Bake 25–30 minutes until crispy.
  8. Add remaining cheese and bake 5 more minutes.
  9. Cool 5 minutes before serving.
