Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz bowtie pasta (farfalle)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cook the bowtie pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the chicken with Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Cook until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. Melt butter in the same skillet and sauté the garlic for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the chicken broth and heavy cream. Simmer for 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is smooth.
  6. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and toss with the sauce.
  7. Add the cooked bowtie pasta and stir until evenly coated.
  8. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the top, cover, and let melt for 2–3 minutes.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • Adjust the heat level by increasing or decreasing the red pepper flakes.
  • For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for the heavy cream.
  • This dish reheats well and is ideal for meal prep.
  • Add sautéed mushrooms or spinach for extra flavor and nutrition.
