Creamy Ranch Chicken is a simple skillet dinner featuring juicy chicken breasts in a rich, zesty ranch cream sauce made with sour cream, cream of chicken soup, and ranch seasoning.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Chicken:
  • 2 large boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 12 tablespoons olive oil
  • Sauce:
  • 10.5 oz cream of chicken soup
  • 1½ cups milk
  • 1 cup sour cream (room temperature)
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 oz ranch seasoning mix

Instructions

  1. Slice chicken into thinner cutlets and pound to about ½ inch thickness.
  2. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Brush with melted butter.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken 4–5 minutes per side until golden. Remove.
  4. Add sauce ingredients to skillet and stir until smooth. Simmer 5 minutes.
  5. Return chicken to skillet, spoon sauce over, cover partially, and simmer 10 minutes until fully heated through.
  6. Serve warm with vegetables or baked potatoes.

Notes

  • Use ranch seasoning mix, not ranch dip mix.
  • Add vegetables or bacon for variation.
  • Smaller chicken breasts will cook faster.
  • Store up to 3 days refrigerated or 3 months frozen.
  • Pairs well with potatoes or rice.
