- ½ batch (85 g) pie crust, or storebought pie shell
- 1 cup (220 g) light brown sugar, loosely packed
- ½ cup (62.5 g) all-purpose flour
- ½ cup (113.5 g) unsalted butter, melted but cooled slightly
- 2 large eggs (88 g)
- 1 teaspoon (4 g) vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon (3 g) kosher salt
- 1 cup (144 g) chopped nuts, such as walnuts or pecans
- 1 cup (180 g) semisweet chocolate chips
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Roll pie dough slightly larger than dish, transfer, trim, fold, and crimp edges.
- Weigh bottom with pie weights or beans and bake 20 minutes.
- Mix brown sugar, flour, and melted butter in large bowl.
- Add eggs one at a time, fully incorporating each.
- Stir in vanilla and salt.
- Fold in nuts and chocolate, pour into partially baked crust.
- Bake until edges set and center slightly wobbly, approx. 35–45 minutes.
- Cool completely before slicing.
